SGGW and Polpharma Biologics launch postgraduate studies for biotechnology enthusiasts
Published: 03.10.2024In October, together with the Warsaw University of Life Sciences [SGGW], we are launching the new Polpharma Biologics’ educational initiative – postgraduate studies “Pharmaceutical biotechnology: development and production of biosimilar drugs. The studies are directed to anyone who wants to acquire new professional competences related to the biological drugs, in particular monoclonal antibodies, which are an innovative and dynamically developing group of medicines. They will be conducted both by SGGW and our Polpharma Biologics experts.
On Sept. 16, 2024, Jerzy Starak and SGGW Dean professor Michał Zasada officially signed the Letter of Intention. Other representatives of our company included Konstantin Matentzoglu, Piotr Korycki, Adrianna Kiędzierska-Mencfeld and Alicja Kryczało-Lara.
The new post-graduate studies are called “Pharmaceutical biotechnology: development and production of biosimilar drugs” and are directed to persons from various backgrounds, not necessary with degrees in pharmaceuticals and biology. The program was created hand in hand by SGGW academic teachers and PB experts. The cooperation includes, i.a. developing the curriculum, conducting classes in the form of lectures, laboratory exercises and study visits. Alicja Kryczało-Lara, Head of Talent Attraction is the person behind this initiative and there are over a dozen Polpharma Biologics employees who devoted their time and effort to make this project reality.
The program includes thematic blocks allowing students to understand molecular processes allowing for the production of biological drugs and how these drugs work. The thematic blocks also include issues such as drug quality, production technology, clinical trials, regulatory and design and financial aspects. Great emphasis is placed on practical classes in laboratories and direct contact with our specialists.
Since the very beginning, Polpharma Biologics has been successful bringing together the world of business and science. Launch of the post-graduate program proves that we not only support, but actively drive initiatives allowing the whole biotech sector to progress. Thanks to this we not only manage to attract top market professionals but also make sure the new biotech talents can set off to an inspiring career in biotechnology.
